CSSO Out and About Festival 2025

1 May 2025

The CSSO is bringing music away from the concert hall and into the city centre for a weekend-long festival on 22 and 23 March 2025.

Thanks to funding from the City of Imagination Fund and support from Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID, the orchestra is bringing a number of ensembles to Hanley across the weekend. From a string quartet playing popular tunes to a brass dectet by the blue clock and a full 60-piece symphony orchestra inside the potteries centre blasting out Star Wars and ET, this event will liven up the city with a huge mix of music.

Lucy Moss, chair of the CSSO, said: “Pop-up performances like these are a fantastic way for our musicians to connect with members of the public. This festival will be a great opportunity for us to get out of our King’s Hall home and into the community to spread joy and bring people together through music”.

All of the events across the weekend will be completely free to attend for everybody, and people will be free to come and go as they please. So, whether you are doing your weekly shop, or on your way to another event, be sure to set off 5 minutes earlier to give yourself time to listen and to say hello to the orchestra and its volunteers.
