Upcoming Concert: Serenade for Strings
On 11th October the CSSO will open the curtain on its 2025-2026 season with an intimate concert in Stoke’s beautiful King’s Hall featuring the orchestra’s string section. CSSO Artistic Director Joe Hearson recently shared why this concert is particularly exciting for him since it contains music that he has wanted to bring to the orchestra for quite some time.
From Vaughan Williams’ stunning Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis to Samuel Barber’s timeless Adagio for Strings (as made famous through its use in the film Platoon), this concert will be a chance for the CSSO’s strings to really shine.
